    During his formative years, Richard Cox Jr. always was interested in understanding how things worked. He would take apart old electronic devices or his video games, admittedly “to varying degrees of success in reassembling.” That inquisitive nature continued to serve Cox well, spurring him to take on new challenges and opportunities.   • Summer Course Brings Disney Magic, Ingenuity to KSU Students

    Luis Cuevas has always considered himself to be a Disney fan. He spent his childhood watching all of the classic films and says his favorite book is The Ride of a Lifetime, a memoir written by longtime Walt Disney Company chief executive Bob Iger. So when he learned of Kennesaw State University’s new Disney Interactive Entertainment Study Program, the journalism student leapt at the opportunity to apply his studies toward learning the magic behind a company he has long admired. Cuevas was one of nearly 30 students who recently took part in the program offered by the Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program (MEBUS) and the College of Computing and Software Engineering (CCSE).  –  July 02, 2020

  • Kennesaw State sees success in online efforts connecting with incoming students

    Following the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, several Kennesaw State University units were tasked with innovating new ways to connect with incoming and prospective students while respecting social distancing. Their response? Meet the students where they are: online. From information sessions to campus tours, orientations to student organization fairs, all have transitioned former face-to-face events to a virtual format in order serve students at an otherwise tumultuous time.  –  June 29, 2020

  • KSU education majors helping local children as virtual tutors

    After making their own transition to remote learning during spring semester, a group of Kennesaw State University education majors are helping local elementary and middle school students who struggled in their adjustment to virtual coursework amidst the pandemic. Thirty-one students from KSU’s Bagwell College of Education are working for Marietta City Schools as virtual tutors and mentors this summer, through COVID-19 Response Fund grants from the Georgia Department of Education and the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement.  –  June 29, 2020

  • KSU Team Shifts to Remote Environment to Complete Industry Project

    Under normal circumstances, Kennesaw State University students and staff would have physical access to the latest in virtual reality technology in the University’s Games User Interaction Tangible Animations & Realities (G.U.I.T.A.R.) lab. However, with the rapid spread of the coronavirus pandemic, industry projects handled by the College of Computing and Software Engineering (CCSE) were challenged with shifting to a remote setting without access to valuable lab space. To counter this, the College recently expanded its resource offering to a team of professional and student VR developers completing an industry project, allowing them to use the equipment remotely.  –  June 25, 2020

  • Kennesaw State's summer enrollment reaches new high

    An increasing number of students are taking summer courses to progress toward earning their degrees, adding up to the highest summer semester enrollment in Kennesaw State University’s history. KSU’s summer enrollment has grown significantly over the past two years to more than 20,000 students this summer. That marks a 14 percent increase from last year’s summer enrollment and more than a 20 percent rise from just two years ago.  –  June 24, 2020
