Kennesaw State observes Transfer Articulation Agreements with other colleges so transfer students can compare specific courses and related academic requirements from one institution to another. We encourage you to use the information below to compare the classes you have completed at your current or previous institution(s) with its equivalent at KSU.

Please be advised that the agreements below may be undergoing updates. It is highly recommended that you follow up with the relevant KSU Academic Department/Unit/Program to confirm whether the agreement and the course(s) articulation are still in effect.

District Teaching as Profession Pathway

The District’s Education Pathway program introduces students to the world of the classroom teacher and provides them with opportunities to actively participate in a public-school classroom setting during their junior and senior years in high school.

The District’s Education Pathway program, which introduces students to the world of the classroom teacher and provides them with opportunities to actively participate in a public school classroom setting during their junior and senior years in high school, includes the following courses (course numeration and title might slightly differ depending on the high school):

  • 13.01100 Examining the Teaching Profession
  • 13.01200 Contemporary Issues in Education
  • 13.01300 Teaching as a Profession Practicum

Additional information on these courses can be found at Georgia Department of Education

The objectives and outcomes of these courses are in alignment with the EDUC 2110 Critical and Contemporary Issues course in Area F of the KSU curriculum for teacher education. A letter from the relevant representative high school officer attesting to the completion of the pathway along with its portfolio/projects is necessary to consider extending the EDUC 2110 course credit.

Students entering KSU should meet with an Education Student Services advisor to provide the letter to request for the EDUC 2110 course credit and to discuss requirements for Admission to an education program.

Core curriculum courses completed at one USG institution are fully transferable to another USG institution per the USG Core Curriculum Transfer Agreements.

Each USG institution's core curriculum shall consist of 60 semester hours, 42 hours in Areas A-E and 18 hours in Area F, as follows:

AREA NAME HOURS
Communication Skills At least 6 semester hours
Quantitative Skills At least 3 semester hours
Institutional Options At least 3 semester hours
Humanities/Fine Arts and Ethics At least 6 semester hours
Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Technology At least 7 semester hours
Social Sciences At least 6 semester hours
Lower Division Major Requirements At least 18 semester hours

Area D: At least 4 of these hours must be in a lab science course.

Students completing any core curriculum course will receive full credit for that course upon transfer to another USG institution within the same major, even if a core area is not completed and even if it means giving transfer credit across areas (e.g., credit of a math course in Area C).

Please note, some areas of your core curriculum may not be satisfied if your program has major specific requirements (e.g., specific sciences are required in Area D). Please review the Academic Programs list in the catalog to see what the requirements are for your program.
