CPS offers a selection of presentations that we can bring to you either in the classroom or for your department.

  • Request a Classroom Presentation

    Our CPS staff and Student Advisory Board are available to offer the below presentations to your class.  Presentations will be conducted virtually using MS Teams or Zoom. 

    Presentation request must be received at least 2-3 weeks in advance of the request date.  Request made less than 2 weeks in advance are not guaranteed to be filled.  A member of our CPS Outreach Team will contact you to discuss your request further. 

    Professor must be present during the presentation.  The below presentations are approximately 30-45 minutes including discussion time. 

    Mental Health 101
    This presentation is focused on identifying the components of mental health, how we utilize them, how they impact our everyday lives, and a few good mental health practices that can be implemented.

    Sources of Strength (S.O.S.) Suicide Prevention
    This presentation is designed to help students identify warning signs, engage in crisis management, understand confidentiality in counseling, develop coping skills, and learn more about resources for getting help.

    This presentation is designed to help individuals understand and talk about mental health with others. Topics addressed include warning signs, how to approach talking about mental health, ways to be supportive of a friend or loved one experiencing mental health challenges, and resources for seeking out help.

    QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention Model 
    The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. The signs of crisis are all around us. We believe that quality education empowers all people, regardless of their background, to make a positive difference in the life of someone they know.   • Interview Request

    CPS is committed to supporting the educational mission of the university and providing mentorship to students interested in the helping professions. Given that we must prioritize students seeking clinical services, and often receive multiple requests from students requesting interviews, all requests for interviews must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance of the assignment due date. We cannot guarantee that any requests will be fulfilled, but we will try our best to accommodate. Many questions regarding CPS Services can be answered by reviewing our website.
