CSM Lab Coordinators
A College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) lab coordinator typically manages the operations of a department or course lab or laboratories, ensuring they run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This involves tasks such as inventory management, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and sometimes even assisting with research or teaching activities. They often act as a liaison between faculty, staff, and students, and may also be involved in laboratory training.
Lab coordinators require various resources to effectively manage lab operations. These resources include safety guidelines, training materials, equipment maintenance procedures, and access to relevant software and tools for data management and inventory control. Additionally, resources for faculty/staff development, scheduling, and financial management are also crucial for a well-functioning lab.
In CSM, each department have their own laboratory coordinators:
- Chemistry and Biochemistry
- Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology (EEOB)
- Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB)
- Physics
