Setting You Up For Success
Each student’s application is reviewed individually by our Application Review Committee. If you do not have an educational or applicable industry background in specific content areas, you may be assigned to complete one or more Foundation Modules before beginning our courses.
-
What are modules like?
These modules take place in an online, streamlined, and self-paced format. The learning platform used is Desire 2 Learn (D2L), the same one you will use for your courses in the program. Each module has been designed to be completed in 25-30 hours of a student’s time. (Please note- this is an estimated amount of time needed to complete the modules, it is not exact. Students have finished these modules at both quicker and slower paces.) -
How much do modules cost?
Each module is $200. -
Can I receive financial aid for modules?
Students have the option to obtain loans for these modules. Information about loans can be found on the College of Professional Education Financial Aid website. Additionally, some of our students have been able to obtain funding for these modules through their current employers. -
Can I begin modules before being accepted?
No. Applications must be reviewed before students can take foundation modules. -
How will I know if I’m required to take Foundation Modules?
If you are required to take foundation modules, your admissions decision will be noted as “Conditionally Accepted” and your required module(s) will be listed in the Decision Comments. -
How do I purchase my module(s)?
Before you begin purchasing your module(s) make sure to review which ones are required of you. Your required modules will be listed in your Decision Comments. You will purchase your modules through the College of Professional Education website. -
How do I successfully complete my module(s)?
An overall grade of 70% is needed for the successful completion of the module. Email your course moderator when you have completed the module. They will finalize your grade and notify the ICWD office.
-
Does my module grade count toward my GPA?
No, these are non-credit-bearing courses and your grade will not count toward your overall KSU GPA. -
How long do I have to complete my required module(s)?
If you were assigned a module or modules, these will be treated as prerequisite courses. Successful completion of your required module(s) is needed to take specific courses (see our Do I have to take my courses in a Specific Order? page.) therefore, we encourage all students to complete their required module(s) before the first day of classes in their first semester.
If students are unable to do so, they are encouraged to reach out to the academic advising team for additional information and assistance.
Please note that purchased modules are only valid for 180 days. If you fail to successfully complete the module in that time, you will be unable to move forward in the program.
