Department of Psychological Science Study Abroad

 Students majoring in psychology can earn course credit while studying abroad. Explore the many benefits provided by a global experience!

Psychology students have the opportunity to participate in study abroad programs. Some of the programs are specifically designed for Psychology majors, while others are open to all majors.

We encourage students to speak with their advisor to ensure the classes they take while abroad will apply toward their degree.

The Land of the Rising Sun: Japan Adventure

May 10 - May 31, 2025

Here’s a great opportunity if you’ve always been interested in Japanese culture: participate in a study abroad program in Japan in the summer of 2025! Hosted by Kanda University in Chiba near Tokyo, this program offers a three-week stay in Japan to learn about Japanese culture, the
traditional and the modern society of Japan. You will be able to explore this dynamic Asian culture at your leisure.

If you are a fan of Japanese pop culture, Pokemon Center Shibuya and other anime attractions in
Tokyo are the places to visit! Plenty of temples to see and authentic sushi to consume!!!

Psychology students can take two courses that will contribute to their degree program: PSYC 3760: Asian American Identities and PSYC 4490 Special Topics: Gender Issues in Japan. Both of these courses are psychology electives.

If you are a double major in psychology and business or a minor in business, there are two business courses available too (BUSA3500 and MGT 4476) if you are interested.

 

Program Cost - $3,115. Students pay for airfare and tuition separately. The KSU Global
Education offers information on internal and external scholarships available to students going on a
study abroad trip. Don’t wait too long, apply early!
