    Dr. Stacey Dixon comes to us from National Louis University in Chicago where she was the Director of Student Veteran Support Services for 5 years.  She served as a Meteorologist and Oceanographer in the U. S. Marine Corps for 21 years.  After military retirement, Dr. Dixon worked as a Financial Advisor/Stockbroker with an international brokerage firm in Palm Springs, Ca.  She later relocated to Chicago where she taught JROTC and Leadership Development courses for a charter school.  Dr. Dixon received her BS in Mathematics/Science from Thomas Edison College, her MBA from National Louis University in San Diego, and her Doctorate from Argosy University in Chicago.  She has a daughter and son, and four grandchildren.

    I am excited to be a part of OWL Nation, KSU, and mostly the Military and Veteran Service Team.  And I look forward to developing a program that highlights all servicemembers, veterans, and families’ contributions to this country.  So, strap on your packs, and let’s have some fun!

    Raquel Britt has proudly served in the United States Army for 5 years. She has obtained a degree in Mass Communications at Austin Community College in Texas. A recent transfer from the University of Texas in 2020 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations minoring in Sociology at Kennesaw State University. She is currently in graduate school at Kennesaw State University for Cyber Security. Having experience as a veteran and a student Raquel has a strong passion for helping Veterans transition into college. Raquel is very family oriented she is married with three children.

    As a transition coordinator, I assist service members, veterans, and families transition to higher education and answer questions about their VA education benefits. We’re here to help you and welcome the opportunity to partner with you on your academic journey.

    Yvonne Perrino is a wife and daughter of former Air Force Veterans. Her passion to help military families began during military tours overseas in the Pacific and abroad by serving on committees to support transitioning families. She has a Bachelor of Arts, in Advertising from the University of South Florida. Her background is in news media where she worked as an Account Executive and Regional Manager for companies like Tampa Bay Times, Express-News, and Time Warner Communications. 

    As a Program Outreach Coordinator, my goal is to highlight on-campus services to help Veterans and families achieve their academic and career goals.  This year our focus is to collaborate with Atlanta metro community partners, Veteran organizations, and Atlanta area-based companies to offer academic support seminars, career-focused opportunities, and family engagement programs that are an extension of the Kennesaw State University mission. Our resources are here to support the talent of the military community.

    Affiliate Non-Compensated, Veteran Success on Campus Counselor (VSOC)

    Margo Thompson is the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) Counselor at KSU. As part of the partnership between the VA and KSU, the VSOC program aims to assist student Service members, Veterans and their eligible dependents to succeed in completing their educational program and career through a coordinated delivery of on-campus benefits assistance and counseling. This is the first program of its kind in the state of Georgia!

    Margo started her career at the VA in 2012 but has over 15 years experience working as a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. Margo, who is the daughter of an Army Veteran, is committed to serving Veterans, active duty military and/or their eligible family members by assisting in their academic and educational success.
