    Patrick McManus is a proud alumnus of Kennesaw State University, where he earned a BBA in Management in 2008 and an MBA in 2017. He currently serves as the Senior Director of Customer Operations at The Coca-Cola Company, leading an organization of over 100 associates who are dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and world-class order management solutions.

    Patrick began his Coca-Cola journey in 2009 as a call center associate and has since advanced through various leadership roles in customer service, program management, bottler franchise leadership, and equipment purchasing. In 2021, he returned to the customer service division to lead the organization, leveraging over a decade of experience to drive results, develop talent, and enhance the customer experience.

    This talk explores how well the central argument of Matthijs’ 2011 book Ideas and Economic Crises from Attlee to Blair (1945-2005) has held up, and focuses on how economic crises — both endogenous and exogenous — have shaped the last two decades of the UK's political economy.

    Carneal Waddey graduated in Spring 2015 from Bethune-Cookman University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. He began his Marriott career shortly after, joining the Renaissance Arlington Capital View in June 2015 as a Rooms Operations Voyager.

    Now, a decade later, Carneal serves as the Senior Manager of Hotel Openings for Marriott International, overseeing properties across the United States and Canada. In this role, he collaborates closely with hotel owners and executive leaders from Marriott’s headquarters and global network.

    Outside of work, Carneal enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Taryn, and their one-year-old daughter, Sage. One of his favorite quotes is:
