Evening MBA Your Way at KSU

Concentrations allow students to dive deeper into subjects and topics that align with their career interests in order to build expertise in a specific area. Concentrations are available in our Evening MBA Program in four areas: Accounting, Finance, Fintech and General Business/Management. Students indicate their concentration of interest on their application to the program.

Academic concentrations allow you to add a special focus to your MBA and customize your academic plan to gain specialized industry knowledge, skills and experience.

  • The KSU MBA-Accounting Concentration is designed for working professionals seeking a path to certification as a public accountant (CPA) without leaving the workforce. MBA-Accounting students complete 18 hours of core MBA business classes, along with 18 hours of accounting curriculum (business reporting, accounting information systems, taxation and auditing). Gain the credit hours and content needed to become eligible to sit for the CPA exam. Students seeking the MBA with the accounting concentration can also purchase the Becker CPA review and prep courses at a discount and are required to complete the following concentration required courses along with their MBA core classes.

    This program is designed for students with an AACSB accredited undergraduate degree in Accounting and those who have successfully completed the following AACSB accredited course equivalents:

  • Enhance your career prospects at the nexus of emerging technologies, financial management and corporate leadership with a concentration in Digital Financial Technologies (Fintech) in the KSU Evening MBA Program. In addition to the 24 in-person credit hours, that includes MBA core courses (finance, accounting, information systems and management), the Fintech curriculum adds an on-line curriculum consisting of payment processing, security and assurance, emerging payment technologies and an in-person experiential learning in payment systems to complete the 12 course/36 hour degree.

    The MBA-Fintech curriculum is market-driven and includes a combination of core, instructor-led classes with a series of cutting edge, online courses focused on the key financial technology subjects related to the Fintech industry. In this program students will not only receive a broad understanding of key functional and leadership areas of business, students will immerse themselves into areas like payment processing, information security, and the financial applications of emerging technologies. Students will also complete a capstone course designed to help them apply the curriculum through experiential learning in Fintech payments.

    Program faculty are thought-leaders and experts trained in the growing area of Fintech payment processing. So, in addition to opening doors in the areas of digital payment technology, fraud prevention, data analytics and compliance, the KSU MBA-Fintech concentration will help students grow in the areas of:

    The MBA core courses are completed face to face in the evenings at any of our convenient, metro-ATL locations. All FIS courses are completed fully online. All FIS courses except for FIS 6890 are asynchronous and meet only 7 weeks in length. FIS 6890 features experiential learning alongside a company and meets synchronously online over the course of a full-length, 15-week term.

  • The General Management MBA at KSU is our most flexible and versatile MBA concentration. Students in this concentration complete 24 hours of core MBA credit in business covering the breadth of business, strategy and leadership disciplines. MBA-General Management concentration students can choose 4 courses/12 credit hours of graduate business electives from the discipline of their choosing, including one course related to international or global business. For example, complete your international elective in marketing management, an informatics course, a course in fintech and a business law course to round off your program’s requirements.
