Event Scheduling 

KSU's Event and Venue Management Office coordinates all event space requests, including Internal Requests from campus groups and Outside Requests from non-KSU organizations. Whether you're planning a meeting, conference, or celebration, our team is here to help make your event a success. 

 

  • All outside (non-KSU) requests for space will be arranged through the Event and Venue Management Office. An agreement for usage of the space will be sent to the client.

    The client must return a signed copy of the agreement with payment prior to the event. Some exceptions (ie. state agencies) will be allowed to make payment after the event.

    If food service is required, the client is responsible for making those arrangements. KSU Catering is the standard provider of catering services at the KSU Center.

Kennesaw Campus

Kennesaw State University campus is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, just north of Atlanta. It is one of the largest universities in the state. KSU offers a wide range of opportunities and facilities that make it a great venue for hosting events. KSU campuses offer modern facilities, beautiful outdoor spaces, and various venues to accommodate events of different sizes and formats.

 

  • The KSU Center is designed to accommodate educationally-oriented events in a meeting and training environment. It offers two conference rooms and numerous classrooms equipped to meet your technology needs. Groups with as many as 250 attendees can be accommodated.

    KSU Center is located just off I-75 in Kennesaw, Georgia, only one mile from the Kennesaw campus of Kennesaw State University. The KSU Center is designed to accommodate educationally-oriented events in a state-of-the-art meeting and training environment. There are two multipurpose rooms and numerous classrooms equipped to meet your technology needs. Groups as large as 250 can be accommodated.

  • The Carmichael Student Center is the central location for student, faculty and staff events on campus.

    University Rooms

    The University Rooms offer a great venue for receptions, banquets, fairs, lectures, dances or just about any event.

    These multipurpose rooms can be reserved separately for smaller gatherings or together for larger events.

    Event capacity for the University Rooms depends greatly on the set-up and can range from approximately 64 (banquet style) to 140 (theater style). Each of the University Rooms comes equipped with a projector screen, projector, laptop connector and speakers.

    NOTE: All built-in systems in the University Rooms come with a laptop connection that is compatible with PC laptops. All Mac users will need to have a VGA cable adapter in order to use the system. The University Rooms are not equipped with computers.

    Helpful Tips:

    • Setup: Maximum occupancy is 400.
    • Food: Allowed.
    • Reservations can be made a year in advance.

    Atrium

    The Atrium is located on the first floor of the Student Center. This is an open area located outside of the University Rooms.

    Helpful Tips:

    • Setup: It is a multi-functional space.
    • Food: Allowed.
    • A/V: No AV equipment is installed, minimal AV support is available.
    • Reservations are required to use this open-access common area.
  • The Convocation Center is the largest facility on Kennesaw campus. The venue hosts events ranging from commencement, sporting events, and formal dinners.

    For internal events, please submit a Convocation Center Request in KSU Reservations to reserve space for your event.

    PLEASE NOTE: Your request for this venue is not confirmed until you are notified by the Department of Event and Venue Management. Do not publicize, sign contractual agreements, or notify guests of your event until you receive a confirmation.

    About the KSU Convocation Center

    The Convocation Center is the largest facility on Kennesaw State University’s campus. The 3,866-seat arena opened in 2005 and is home to the Owls men's and women's basketball teams, the women's volleyball team, and the Athletics and Health Promotion & Physical Education departments' administrative offices. Classes are also held in this building.

    Located  across from Kennesaw Hall and the Campus Green, this spacious facility can accommodate concerts, seminars and other entertainment and business events. The facility has hosted numerous events including athletic competitions, competitive cheer events, youth camps, college and high school commencements and many other academic gatherings.

    The Convocation Center underwent many updates in the summer of 2012, including a Daktronics video wall. The Dakronics video wall was updated in 2021 and installation of theactrial sound and lighting was installed in 2025. The facility also features the Hospitality Suite located on the third floor of the venue that can serve as a VIP suite.

    Important Things to Know

    • The Convocation Center is available for reservation requests, however availability is based on athletic events including volleyball & basketball season.
    • Setup
      • The arena does not come pre-set. All items for an event must be rented.
      • The arena basketball floor must be covered for all events (requires a minimum of 4 hours to cover the floor and 4 hours to remove).
    • Requests for the Convocation Center Arena floor should be made three to six months in advance of the desired event date.
    • All Convocation Center classrooms are used for KSU academic program delivery. Requests where disruption of academic programs would occur will be subject to approval.
    • If the event is approved, the Department of Event & Venue Management will send a confirmation along with any expected costs to the requester.

    Handicapped Parking: Designated parking for those with special needs is available in all campus parking areas. Patrons must display the required handicapped-parking permit.

    Security has the right to inspect any item at any time for the purpose of safety. Prohibited items* must be returned to cars or disposed of before entering the venue. No place will be offered to store any of these items.

    Exception: Medical bags are only allowed if they are no larger than what is required to transport necessary medical equipment.

    Kennesaw State University is committed to the health and well-being of all members of the KSU community. A smoke/tobacco-free campus means that everyone, including guests, are free to travel and visit anywhere on campus without having to avoid potentially health-hazardous situations.

    Prior to Commencement ceremonies, KSU offers a bag check for $5 before entering commencement. All proceeds go to support KSU Cares.

  • With over 320 acres, the Kennesaw campus offers plenty of outdoor space for events including the Campus Green, the Legacy Gazebo and the Carmichael Student Center Terrace.

    Campus Green

    The Campus Green is a central outdoor space for all student activity. Here you will find students playing pick-up flag football or frisbee. Students relax, study and join in fellowship around this quad.

    Helpful Tips:

    • Setup: Items may need to be rented if all in-house resources have been reserved.
    • Food: Allowed.
    • Audio/Visual Information:
      • In accordance with the KSU Freedom of Expression Policy, amplified sound is prohibited on the Campus Green Zones 1-9 (Kennesaw campus) and by the Globe between the Administration Building and the Joe Mack Wilson Student Center (Marietta campus), except for University-sponsored events
      • For University-sponsored events only
        • Amplified sound will be determined on a case-by-case basis
        • Charges may apply for any additional A/V services and equipment that do not come with the venue.
    • Alcohol is not permitted on the Campus Green.

    The Legacy Gazebo

    The Legacy Gazebo is located between the Social Science and English buildings. It is an outdoor amphitheatre with a small stage and outdoor lights.

    Helpful Tips:

    • Setup: Existing set up only.
    • Food: Allowed.
    • Audio/Visual Information: Amplified sound is only allowed during certain periods of time. 
    • Charges may apply for any additional A/V services and equipment that do not come with the venue.

    Terrace

    The Terrace is located on the west side of the Carmichael Student Center. The Terrace is an outdoor miniature amphitheatre with open access and seating for 15 people.

    Helpful Tips:

    • Setup: Six foot tables, chairs, and a small PA are available upon request.
    • Food: Allowed.
    • Audio/Visual Information: Amplified sound is only allowed during certain periods of time.
    • Charges may apply for any additional A/V services and equipment that do not come with the venue.

    Austin Amphitheater

    The amphitheatre is located on the south side of campus at the Austin Residence Complex. It is an outdoor space with a small stage and seating for 50 people.

    Helpful Tips:

    • Setup: Existing setup only. If additional items are needed, they will have to be rented by the department hosting the event.
    • Food: Allowed.
    • A/V: Amplified sound will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Charges may apply for any additional A/V services and equipment that do not come with the venue.
  • Kennesaw State University has approximately five auditoriums and over 300 classrooms.

    Helpful Tips:

    • Setup: Existing setup only.
    • Food: Food and drink are prohibited in all classrooms and auditorium space.
    • A/V: If you need any audio visual assistance, it is your responsibility to request it in KSU Reservations when submitting your event request.
    • All rooms require a key card access.

Marietta Campus

Kennesaw State University’s Marietta Campus is a dynamic, technology-focused environment ideal for hosting a wide variety of events. Formerly Southern Polytechnic State University, this campus became part of KSU in 2015 and is known for its engineering, computing, and architecture programs. It provides a blend of modern facilities, accessible location, and technical infrastructure — making it a great choice for both academic and community events.

  • The Student Center is the hub of on-campus life at KSU – Marietta campus-- providing social and cultural activities for students. Located near the main entrance and surrounded by parking options, this space can host a variety of events.
  • There are five meeting rooms available on the upper level in the Student Center in a variety of sizes and configurations. The Dogwood Room on the lower level can be used for meetings as well.
  • There are two Ballrooms in the Student Center that can be reserved separately or together. The space is wonderful for meetings, lectures, banquets, dances or just about any event type. Both Ballrooms have state-of-the-art AV equipment.
  • The Marietta campus outdoor areas offer ample space including an amphitheater, large field between the dorms and Globe area to host events of all kinds.

    Area Between the Residence Halls

    Conveniently located in the center of campus, this spacious green area includes ample event space. With easy load-in access, this versatile space is ideal for a variety of events such as carnivals, concerts, movie nights, festivals, and picnics. Tents are welcome in this area as long as the Environmental Health and Safety regulations are followed regarding their setup and removal.  Please note, access to power is limited in this space.

    Amphitheater

    The Amphitheater is located close to the area between the Residence Halls and behind the Lawrence V. Johnson Library.  The Amphitheater will seat 200 people and can be used as is with seating on the grass or chairs can be added.  There is a small, elevated stage at the front of the venue and sound and lighting can be used if requested. This venue is excellent for movies, cookouts or competitions.

    The Globe

    The Globe sits in the middle of the plaza separating the Student Center and the Marietta Administration building, next to Sycamore Grove. Conveniently located close to the main entrance of campus, and in an area that students walk through frequently, this is an ideal outdoor event space for organizational fairs and information tables.  

    Stinger’s Outdoor Walkway

    Located in front of Stinger’s Restaurant, this versatile walkway has easy load-in access and plenty of space to set up tables on either side of the walkway with ample access in-between. This area is perfect for those who want their event to be seen by the students, since it is situated outside of the only dining hall on campus.

  • The Event Center is the largest mixed-use facility on Kennesaw State’s Marietta Campus. The venue hosts events ranging from sporting events, formal dinners, open houses, orientations, and many others. 

    For internal events, please submit an Internal Event Request in KSU Reservations to request the space for your event. For external events, please fill out the following form

    About the Event Center

    • Maximum Occupancy is 1,864 people.

      • 1502 bleachers seats with the ability to have 362 floor seats 

    • 2 locker rooms

    • 2 flex meeting spaces

    • Large atrium/foyer complete with a built-in concessions area

    • The court is a standard NCAA regulation basketball court

    • The court area with both sets of bleachers retracted is 11,300 sq ft (about twice the area of a basketball court).

      • 9,240 sq ft (this is with one side of the bleachers out and the other retracted)
      • 7,180 sq ft (this is with both sides of the bleachers out)
    • Built in LED video wall/AV sound system 

    Setup

    • The Event Center does not come pre-set. All items for an event must be rented through the Department of Event and Venue Management.

      • The gymnasium floor must be covered for all non-athletic events. (Requires a minimum of 4 hours to cover the floor and 4 hours to remove).

  • The Executive Dining Room is located underneath Stinger's Restaurant. It is a non-academic University facility with the primary purpose of accommodating Presidential and VIP events.

    The Executive Dining Room it is available for use by KSU faculty, staff and Registered Student Organizations for meetings, presentations, receptions and banquets. 

    The maximum number of guests is 48 for all set ups except receptions.  For receptions, the maximum number of guests is 75 (with the furniture removed). 

    All events in the Dining Room are required to have KSU Catering as part of the event.  Outside catering or bringing in food is not permitted.

    All requests for the Executive Dining Room are to be submitted through EMS.  The requests are reviewed and determined if appropriate for the space by the Office of University Events.

  • The following spaces are considered as alternative event venues. These are not booked through Department of Event and Venue Management but are available upon request.

    A hub of activity on the Marietta campus, the Recreation and Wellness Center provides an intimate space for the campus community to engage in fitness and recreation activities.  Located near the entrance to the Marietta campus, the facility includes a two-court gymnasium, 2 racquetball courts, a fitness studio, a meeting room, 6-lane 25-yard indoor pool, and an outdoor patio. 

    In addition to the facility, the Department of Sports of Recreation oversees the disc golf course.  Please contact the Department of Sports and Recreation for more information.

    Dance Theatre

    The recently renovated Dance Theatre is home to the KSU Dance Company. It seats 450 people and is available for event requests.  All requests go through an approval process by the Theater Manager. The second floor lobby area in the Student Center can be combined with the Dance Theater and used as a reception or check-in area.
