Event Descriptions

  • Over 15 FREE health screenings ranging from body composition to glucose to vision. Visit 15 stations and get a t-shirt! Offered every spring semester.
  • Join the Peer Health OWLs around campus for giveaways, tips, and fun activities to better your overall health and well-being!
  • Join us on the campus Green as we celebrate National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week with stations on alcohol awareness and lots of fun activities and giveaways.
  • Health Promotion and Wellness' cooking demonstration kitchen allows students an opportunity to learn how to prepare easy, nutritious and budget-friendly meals on their own. Students will not only learn new recipes, but also basic culinary skills, healthy eating and food safety tips!

  • Nutrition workshops are designed to help you dive into a nutrition topic you are interested in. You can expect engaging education and activities and time to ask a registered dietitian your questions. Workshop topics include healthy eating, eating on a budget, sports nutrition, intuitive eating, and body image.
  • Learn how to monitor your blood alcohol concentration by getting your personalized BAC card! To get your card, stop by the Health Promotion and Wellness office located in the Student Recreation and Activities Center, suite 1200.
  • Start Spring Break early! Join us for information on ways to have a safer spring break, win prizes, enjoy refreshments, and more!
  • Can you spot the Peer Health golf cart? Join the Peer Health OWLs for giveaways, tips, and fun activities to better your overall health and well-being!
  • FREE and CONFIDENTIAL rapid HIV testing offered by the Cobb and Douglas Public Health is available each month! Condoms and other sexual health supplies will be provided. 
  • The purpose of the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The program teaches skills that participants need  to know to give immediate care to suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Available only to KSU students, staff, and faculty. A valid KSU ID is required.
  • Talk with a registered dietitian about different nutrition topics. 
  • Unwind & destress from the semester with our four-legged friends from Happy Tails! Other stress-relieving activities & tips will be provided.
