Student Recreation and Activities Center

Welcome to the Dr. Betty L. Siegel Student Recreation and Activities Center! This video tour will give you an in-depth look at our facility on the Kennesaw Campus and all the possibilities to recreate!  


Opened in June 2015, this state-of-the-art facility on the Kennesaw campus provides a variety of choices for the user to recreate, workout, and engage with the KSU community.

Lobby & Service Desk

Talon Cards or Sports and Recreation Member ID Cards are required for entry at all Sports and Recreation facilities.  

All users must have a waiver on file. This can be completed at the Service Desk at time of first entry or ahead on time online through the Member Portal or through the Sports and Recreation mobile app.  

Minors will need to complete the waiver through DocuSign.  

  • Click on DocuSign
  • Input student and parent/guardian information  
  • Follow prompts to complete the waiver 
  • A confirmation email will be sent when your waiver has been processed and is on file.  

Memberships and Guest Passes can be purchased at the Service Desk. 

Forget a towel, water bottle or hair tie? You are able to purchase commonly forgotten and exclusive gear from our Pro Shops.

Strength Floor & Locker Rooms:

Locker rooms and changing rooms are available with restrooms, showers and lockers. Most lockers in the Student Recreation and Activities Center have built-in lock mechanisms for use. Lockers are for day use. Locker rentals are available on a monthly basis for purchase if you’d like to store your items overnight.  

You’ll be able to complete your workout with the large variety of equipment available on the strength floor. Weight benches, standalone benches, rig lifting stations and dumbbells are all available for use.

4-Court Gym & Tennis Courts

Need a basketball, volleyball or other equipment for use on the courts? Items can be borrowed at the Service Desk for no additional charge. Please return items once you have completed play. Items may be subject to late fees if not returned properly.  

Outdoor tennis courts and a basketball court are available for use during the facility’s operating hours.  

Courts may be reserved for classes, special events, Intramural Sport games, or Club Sport team practices or competitions.

Court reservations can be found online.

Aquatics & Sand Volleyball

Interested in learning how to swim or perfecting your stroke? Our talented swim instructors can help! Swim lessons are offered throughout the year in both private and group formats. Lessons are available to Sports and Recreation members and the community.  

Aquatics also hosts the KSU Masters Swim team giving Sports and Recreation Members the opportunity to enjoy swimming through a supportive, coached team practice. The KSU Masters Swim Team hosts weekly practices and monthly challenges. Swimmers of all ability levels are welcome to participate.  

Outdoor Adventures hosts activities in the aquatics area like kayak roll clinics and paddleboard clinics. These are great opportunities to get comfortable with your skills in a controlled environment before taking them outdoors. Visit the Member Portal to find the upcoming schedule.  

Sand Volleyball courts are available behind the outdoor leisure style pool. The courts follow the same hours as the aquatics area.

XP Room, Racquetball Courts & MAC Gym

The XP room is a dedicated space for powerlifting, Olympic lifting and deadlifting. The specialized flooring system allows for controlled dropping of weights among the 8-rig lifting station. 

Racquetball courts are available for open play.   

The MAC Gym or multi-activity court gymnasium can host a variety of sports and activities. Common examples are indoor soccer, roller skating, table tennis and floor hockey. This space is also commonly used for events.  

Equipment for racquetball or common activities in the MAC Gym are available through Equipment Issue at the Service Desk.  

Courts may be reserved for classes, special events, Intramural Sport games, or Club Sport team practices or competitions.

Group Fitness Studios

OwlFit offers a variety of group fitness classes each semester. These range from cycling to Zumba, yoga and pilates to boxing. Find the current Group Fitness Schedule here. All classes are geared toward beginners and are taught by our certified student instructors! 

No reservations or sign-ups are required, just show up to the class ready to get in a good sweat! Some classes are available virtually, which will require registration through the Sports and Recreation Member Portal.  

Remember to bring a water bottle and sweat towel! Necessary equipment will be provided.

Outdoor Adventures

Outdoor Adventures is your destination for all outdoor activities! Visit the bike shop for repairs and rentals. Bikes can be rented in 3-day increments and are available in both road and mountain bike styles. There is no additional cost to rent bikes. Bikes not returned on time may be subject to late fees. Long term (semester) rentals are available for a fee. Stop by to get all  your bicycle questions answered!  

Need outdoor gear? Outdoor Adventures has you covered with gear ranging from hammocks to tents and sleeping bags to kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.  

Rise to new heights in the Climbing Gym whether you are a seasoned climber or a beginner! Check out Try Rock Climbing every Tuesday evening where staff will belay you as you climb the 47’ tower!  

Nature Bound trips get you off campus and into the outdoors! Explore through a variety of trip options including hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, biking, paddling and more! Trips are offered every semester taking you locally in our community and to nearby states. Costs for trips include transportation, gear, instruction and food for overnight trips. Registration takes place in the Sports and Recreation Member Portal

Second Floor

The second floor of the facility features many selectorized strength equipment pieces, cardio equipment and an indoor walk-jog-run track.

Cooking Demo & Activity Rooms

Health Promotion and Wellness oversees the Cooking Demonstration Kitchen located in room 1220 of the Student Recreation and Activities Center. This space allows students an opportunity to learn how to prepare easy, nutritious and budget-friendly meals on their own. Students will not only learn new recipes, but also basic culinary skills, healthy eating and food safety tips! 

The Activity Rooms can host university departments or university-chartered organizations according to specific guidelines. Please visit our reservations page to learn more about this process.
