Closed Classes

We do not provide closed-class overrides. All available seats have been released. The waitlist will end on Jan. 6th. Any open seats during Drop/Add will be first-come, first-served. You must diligently look for seats during Drop/Add Jan. 12-16.

Campus Restriction/Online Classes

Some online business course sections are reserved exclusively for students declared & enrolled in fully online degree programs. Not all majors are offered as fully online programs. Students who are not declared in an online program are not eligible to enroll in those specific sections, and this restriction cannot be waived for any reason. If seats open during Drop/Add, departments might release them, but that hasn’t happened in the past, so we recommend taking an in-person section instead.

Please note:

  • General education courses do not have this restriction except for ECON 1000.
  • This is why you may have been able to take other online courses in the past.

Online eCore classes

Online eCore classes are online General Education courses taught through the University System of Georgia. We team up with other colleges to provide more online courses, eCore classes are noted in the schedule of classes with a “G” in the section number. For example, COMM 1100 1BG. While they cover the same content and count the same as any other online class, there are a few differences. The courses may follow a different semester schedule. For example, the withdrawal date, the start/end date for class, and class breaks may not be the same as a KSU class. The classes also use GoView instead of D2L. Students must complete a “prerequisite quiz” to register for the class. To learn more and take quiz, go here https://ecore.kennesaw.edu/

Admitted to Coles and getting the error?

Common prerequisite: MGT 4199 requires:  BUSA 4150 (requires BUSA 3150), ECON 3300, FIN 3100, MGT 3100, MGT 3200, and MKTG 3100 . To be considered passing, all classes must have a grade of C or higher.

Other class prerequisites can be found in the Catalog.

Non-business majors who have a business minor

To add or enroll in a business minor, students must meet the following requirements:

  1. Completed at least 60 credit hours. This does not include in-progress classes.
  2. Declare a business minor
  3. Have a KSU GPA of at least a 2.0
  4. Meet any other prerequisites for the course
  5. Be admitted to their degree program, if applicable. I.e. Sports Management, Public Relations, or another program that students must be admitted.  For open majors, like Psychology, students just need the 60 hours and declare it.
  6. For minors, unless the class is listed as a specific requirement, the student has to request a special override. For example, a Management minor requires MGT 3100 and MGT 4001. Then students choose 3 MGT “electives” as part of the minor. The way classes are coded, students must request an override for the elective courses. Trying to code the growing list of options would be daunting and never-ending. Submit a *special override here.
