The Registered Visitor Process

The Registered Visitor process was established for individuals who may need specialized access for their role while on the Kennesaw State University campus.

A Registered Visitor (RV) may be a Long-Term visitor (LTV), a Non-Paid Affiliate (NPA), a Student Assistant (SA) or an Authorized Individual (AI). The RV process is to track and record visitors on campus, as well as to initiate ordering background checks for individuals who may need specific access that requires criminal background approval. This access may include door access and/or computer access.

Any visitor who will be on campus for more than 7 days will need to be a registered visitor on campus. Examples of visitors are but not limited to:

  • Contractors/Outside Vendors/Staff/Students/Volunteers/Special Guests/Visiting Scholars
  • Temporary employees working with KSU through an approved agency not hired by the university
  • Authorized Individuals (Faculty, Staff, Students, and Volunteers) who may be working with our Programs Serving Minors
  • KSU Students who need background checks for access to areas that may be secure such as:
    • Tutors
    • Lab Assistants
    • Camp Counselors
    • RA’s

The purpose of recording RV’s is to ensure campus safety and security, as well as provide necessary permissions for our visitors.
